Right in front – of my face – is my ring – and I like it!  Actually, I love it.  I know I posted before about rings I liked but I wanted to give you a refresher…

good rings

Now, the rings below are bad, bad rings (For me – just not my style – not knockin’ anyone else)…

 bad rings

Now for my little darling.  I didn’t realize how hard it was to take a picture of a ring so here goes:

My Ring1

I know my wrapped wrist is wonkie lookin’ but I really couldn’t wait to take pics of my ring (sprained doing yoga, of all things).

My Ring 2

So, it’s not the Tiffany Elsa Peretti® swan ring, tiffany-elsa-perretti-swan-ring-thumbnail.jpgbut it reminds me of it and we did not go broke!

I’m so happy.

I love Martha Stewart but I find it a tad hypocritical of the Today Show to post the following “Eligibility Requirement” for their Today Throws a Martha Stewart Wedding contest:

Each applicant must be of good moral character, must have never been convicted of a crime of any nature (other than moving violations of a misdemeanor type that did not involve personal injury, drugs or alcohol), and must have nothing in their background that would be an embarrassment to NBC News or TODAY (as determined by TODAY, in its sole discretion);

Pretty ironic, huh?

The OCD In Me

Who just spent the last 3 days transferring (copying and pasting) all 5 of her wedding registries into one nice little Excel worksheet (included in my master wedding planning spreadsheet)? That would be me.

Crazy? Um, yeah!

Worth it? Absolutely!

I swear I need to sell my spreadsheet. I made so many formulas and worksheets. It’s ridiculous but essential, especially because I live on the computer.

*On a side note, I was a bit disappointed with registering. I thought it would be way more fun. I was so excited to walk around Target with that little gun…but it wasn’t what I thought it would be. That’s why I registered at 4 other stores. I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted in just 3 registries. So, 5 was the magic number: Macy’s; Dillard’s; Target; Crate & Barrel and Pottery Barn. I hope that does not seem excessive. The amount of gifts I registered for is completely reasonable for 85 to 100 invitees. I just wanted it to be easily accessible and have a good item mix. I really believe I accomplished that even if the 5 registries are a faux pas.

Look what I just came across while visitng KerCo‘s knottie planning bio:

photo credited to daveschic (knottie bio)

These look just like the table number cards I designed.  I swear I just saw these today.  I guess when it comes to weddings, there are so many yet everything is so much of the same.  The same fonts, same basic ideas.  KerCo also uses the scriptina font on a lot of her stationary and her invitations remind me of mine in a way.  I really want to be different but is that possible without being avant guard?  Back to the designing board.

A Good Shoe Day

It has been my experience that when shopping, if you see something you like and can afford it – BUY IT!  There have been so many times that I debated on buying something I wanted and waited.  When I finally made the decision, it was too late.  Item no longer available.  This has happened several times in the last few months and it is extremely frustrating.  So today, I look at zappos, just doing some Internet window shopping and I see the cutest little flats by Nine West:

I was doing a search on green shoes, thinking perhaps I may want a pop of color under my dress.  When I saw these, I knew I had to have them (perfect grass green color) but I was less than enthused about the $72.95 price tag.  These would not be my main shoes just to put on at the reception after dancing a bit.  So, I went off to look for a deal.   Shoes365 had them for the same price…Amazon just had another posting from zappos…more of the same…more of the same…Then…Macy’s.  Yeah boyeee!!! Jackpot.  $34.50.   More my speed.  So I bought ’em.  And you know what, it feels good.  Also, I used MyPoints, which means I get 2 points for every dollar I spent.  It’s really a neat program and I’ve redeemed my points three times already for $25 dollar amounts each time.  The next time I redeem my points, I will use them for something wedding related.  See, it’s all working out.  Now I just need to get on the ball with finding the other dress fabric and my “real” shoes, which will most definitely be ivory now that my dress will be ivory.

I received my samples from CardsAndPockets. Yippee!! I ordered the following color cards:

paper samples

* Coco has been replaced with Milk Chocolate

I also ordered the signature pocket folder in Milk Chocolate:

This is a keeper. Decision made.

The colors are pretty true to how they look on screen. Now, off to order a few more color samples to see some differences, which I should have done in the first place but it’s ok. Another package from CardsAndPockets can never be bad.

I finally got started purchasing fabric for my dress. I was procrastinating hoping to lose more weight before I bought it but I needed to go ahead and get moving. Plus, I found a great deal at Denver Fabrics.

Here’s what I bought today:
Silk Satin Organza

I bought 3 yards for a total of $34.44 including shipping and tax. Great deal. This will only be used for the flounce of the dress (at the hem as my dress will be a mermaid silhouette). Now I need to buy Silk Duchess Satin which will be considerable more costly but I know I can find a bargain. The entire budget for my trousseau is $400 (not charging myself labor). This includes fabric, notions, jewelry, lingerie and shoes. Think I can do it?
